“For all men have sinned and have missed the shining-greatness of God” (Romans 3:23).
Our self-will separates us from the creator</font color>
People were created in the image of God. He gave us a will and freedom of choice. We
chose to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. God’s
word calls this self-will sin. Sin breaks our fellowship with God and results in separation from the Creator.

“You get what is coming to you when you sin. It is death! But God’s free gift is life that lasts
forever. It is given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 6:23).
People through the ages have tried to reach God and the abundant life through their own
efforts, such as a good moral life, religion, tradition, the creation.

God’s gift is the only way to bridge this great gulf.
God’s word says:
“There is a way which looks right to a man, but its end is the way of death”
(Proverbs 14:12).
“But your wrong-doings have kept you away from your God. Your sins have
hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear” (Isaiah 59:2).
